Secrets…

They weigh you down. I’ve kept a secret all my life. It’s my mother’s secret, too. I inherited it from her along with a unique ability that only we possess. From the start, our interactions are tense and volatile. I know it’s because I’m denying the unwelcome desire that grips me when he’s near. I think he feels it, too. He looks at me with an intensity that threatens to unhinge my resolve. Soon he’s trying to break through the walls that past hurts have built.


But I’m not what I appear to be, and it wouldn’t be fair to get involved with him. At least that’s what I tell myself. Until a terrible act of violence reveals that Lucas has a secret, too. It’s a secret that links us together and ties us to an evil history I never could have imagined.

Keep You From Harm, güzel bir hikaye anlatıyordu. Dokunuşuyla iyileştirebilen Raielle bir gün okuldan döndüğünde annesini mutfak masasında ölü bulur ve varlığından bile haberdar olmadığı abisi ile yaşamak için yanına yerleşir. Daha ilk günden Lucas'ı fark eder, Lucas da onu fark etmiştir ama yaptığı hödüklüklerle biraz yanlış anlaşılacaktır.

Dokunarak iyileştirme yeteneğinin ailesinde olduğunu öğrenecek olan Raielle, annesinin ölümünün dahi bununla ilgisi olacağını fark edecektir. Erkek kardeşinin minik kızı Penelope'nin vücudu bir nevi tümörle kaplı diyebiliriz. Her ne kadar onu iyileştirmesini umdukları için yanlarına almadıklarını dile getirseler de sonuçta iyileştirme yaparken akrabaya nakledememesi - kendisinin de akraba olmasından dolayı - Raielle'i zor bir durumda bırakıyor.

Hem okul hem de Lucas ile olan ilişkisi çok güzel giderken, kendini iyileştiremediğini fark etmesiyle sadece ününü duyduğu babasını aramaya başlıyorlar Lucas ile. Tabi babası kıza kendi ulağını yolluyor ve yalnız gelmesini söylüyor, kitap da tam burada Raielle Lucas'a tam ulaşamamışken bitiyor. Devam kitapları yine çiftin aşklarını devam ettirebilmelerini sağlamalarıyla ve şu gizemli baba ve düşmanları ile geçecek gibi görünüyor.

Kitap güzeldi, akıcıydı da. Ama bilmem okudunuz mu, Sonsuz Dokunuş adıyla bizde yayınlanan bir kitaba feci derecede benziyordu. Her ne kadar benzerlikleri bulunsa da göze çok da batmadan hikayeye odaklanabiliyorsunuz. Keşke seri olmasaydı da, ucu şöyle açık kalmayaydı.
